Kathmandu, Januari 2012
Because we are sensitive towards capacity building of our local partner NGO's for their sustainability a workshop on proposal writing was organized from the 30th-31st of December. The aim was to give more knowledge on proposal writing, on procedures of project proposal submission in the government agencies and also techniques of fund raising. The main goal was to improve the quality of project proposals but also to make the partner NGO's familiar with the Social Welfare Council, who needs to approve the project proposals. To reach this goal a two-day workshop was organized, and 11 participants of all 7 partner NGO's were present. The workshop was given in an interactive way and in small groups the participants had to write their own authentic and effective proposal, which meets the criteria of the Social Welfare Council. At the end those proposals were presented, under guidance of Mr. Popular Gentle, who facilitated the workshop. Also Mr. Bhupendra Sijapati of the Social Welfare Council was present, and he gave very useful tips and suggestions and explained the process of approval by the Social Welfare Council. The responses of the participants were positive as they were "grateful to have learned such an important skill and be provided the information for proposal writing for when they will be independent one day".
So a worthwhile action to make our partner NGO's operate more independently!
