Groepsfoto-dec2011Last Wednesday, 30th of November, EFF organized a workshop on vocational training for EFF's 10 students (of whom 9 showed up) who are appearing SLC this year. The aim of this day was to make them aware of the benefits of vocational education, like being able to earn their own money after 1-2 years education. With this they can then always continue their formal education as well if they want to. Facilitators from Binayak Technical Institute and Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) provided the workshop. The students mainly gained information about vocational training in the medical field, like CMA, ANM and lab, in the first session and the second session was mainly about more technical courses like electrician, plumbing, welding etc. The workshop proved to be successful as all students said they did not have much knowledge about vocational training before and now they also see the benefits of it! Some of them (5 students) also said to be convinced of going for vocational training, which is a good sign as EFF is able to support this type of education and it gives the students the possibility to earn their own income within a short time frame! Overall it was a very successful day with satisfied trainers, EFF staff and most important, happy students!
